Cumbrian football star Dean Henderson has revealed how Lewis Capaldi performed at his wedding – with break-up songs!

The Manchester United and England goalkeeper says he was “buzzing” that the star agreed to perform at his summer wedding in Italy.

And he said the singer entertained guests in his inimitable style.

Speaking on Sky Sports, 25-year-old Henderson said: “He’s the GOAT, isn’t he?

“It’s something I really wanted to do to surprise the missus, and managed to do it.

“I got in touch with him and thankfully he came out. I was buzzing. He’s a top performer.

“He has everyone in hysterics by not even trying. Secondly, he [Capaldi] gets on the mic and says, ‘I hope this goes well and I wish you all the best of luck…these are break-up songs, hopefully you don’t break up…!’”

“What a guy. Then he opens his mouth and his voice is phenomenal. He doesn’t even warm up – just goes straight into it.”

Capaldi recently topped the charts with his latest single Forget Me.

Henderson, meanwhile, is with the England squad for their latest Nations League game against Germany at Wembley tonight.

The Cumbrian, a former Carlisle United academy player, is on loan with Nottingham Forest from Man Utd.
