A BOOK shop has benefitted from a long overdue redesign of its window display.
Bookends, on Castle Street in Carlisle, is an iconic independent book shop in the Historic Quarter.
The Bookends team has released photos of its new mini refit of its front, which previously was a task for the staff to manoeuvre around to grab stock.
A spokesperson from the popular local bookshop said: “Basically when we moved five or six years ago, we had to do things in a big rush, so it was just a few book cases and we just had to make do but we've used a really good local Carlisle based company called Criffell Interiors, it's not something you can just buy off the shelf you need to have it custom made, but the company was very helpful with what we needed.”
It was over six years ago when the Bookends shop burst onto the high street in Carlisle, so this redecorating is long overdue.
The refit involves the installation of new window fixtures, some new display units, as well as a carousel for their lovely picture books.
They said that for anyone who has ever requested a book from their window and was 'made to witness an amateur acrobatics show', they will know this is a huge improvement.
