A CREATIVE communications agency that has its head office in Whitehaven has announced its expansion into the capital.

Founded and led by 18-year-old Oliver Hodgson, Platinum Live works across three key areas: PR, social media and live events.

Oliver started the firm at the beginning of the pandemic aged just 16. He said: “This is an important moment in Platinum’s journey, having won several key accounts in London and outside of the North, our desire is to become known and grow a reputation for not only producing great work but also holding strong social values.

“London has been an ambition for a long-time, and thanks to collaborative work with an exciting personal branding agency that ambition is becoming a reality much quicker than I thought would be possible.

“Spending a great deal of time in the city this year has spurred me on to take our expansion into the capital far more seriously.

“Our roots lie in Cumbria, and we’re incredibly passionate about making sure we continue to grow our portfolio here and build on our offering in what is quite a traditional county."

Platinum Live has worked with the likes of RAICo One, Kendal Calling, BEC, MissionCX and Kurogo as well as various talent including Gary McKee, Fell Foodie and Hardwicke Circus.

In September the agency also handled the brief for the Whitehaven Alive festival, marketing Chris Moyles, Scouting For Girls and Porsche descending on the town, with the agency's work resulting in a sell-out first year.

The agency is currently recruiting for several positions across its social and PR team including the latest opportunity to join as a full-time social media executive.
