Bookies’ favourite and Cumbria’s very own Helen Skelton has thanked her fans for their ‘lovely’ messages of support after she made it through to ‘Movie Week’ in Strictly Come Dancing.

The next episode of Strictly Come Dancing will feature the celebrity dancers take part in themed dances associated with a chosen film.

She has received a slew of support from her fans all over social media, especially on Twitter which came after her sensational ‘cha cha’ in the last episode.

One account posted: “There are all sorts of people on Strictly who I am rooting for, but Helen Skelton – who doesn’t believe she is sexy or can do it – breaks my heart.

“She is incredible.”

Another said: “Good luck Helen, you were amazing, I thought the judges' scores were so unfair.”

Someone else praised her dancing ability after the October 2 episode: “I feel you will go far in this competition.

“You make me laugh as well.

“Very genuine and a beautiful lady.

“Good luck for next week.”

One more said: “All the luck in the world, you deserve it, you are a shining star.”

And it hasn’t gone unnoticed, with Helen Skelton taking the time to tweet back from her account a massive thanks to those who appreciate her.

The Countrylife presenter tweeted: “Thank you for all your lovely messages.

“I can see why people love this show.”

The next episode is this Saturday, October 8, at 6:30pm on BBC One.
