A LEGENDARY English folk band will perform twice in Carlisle after their initial date sold out.

Lindisfarne are set to play at the Old Fire Station on October 27 and now, as that date sold out, also on December 1.

The Geordie legends’ album ‘Fog on the Tyne’ gave them their breakthrough, and topped the album charts early in 1972 for four weeks.

The release remained on the charts for 56 weeks in total while ‘Meet Me on the Corner’, one of two songs written by bassist Rod Clements, reached number five as a single on the charts.

50 years on and the classic five-piece lineup of long-time members fronted by Clements (vocals, mandolin, fiddle, slide guitar) and co-founder Alan Hull's son-in-law Dave Hull-Denholm (vocals, piano, guitars) has been wowing audiences with a unique acoustic rock experience guaranteed to get crowds on their feet

The dates come as the Lindisfarne ‘live' experience goes to the home screen and player with a DVD release of concert performances expected later this year along with a definitive 6CD box set of the band's BBC session work dating right back to its origins.
