A WI group was 'overjoyed' to be reunited for the first time since the pandemic.
The Border Group of Irthington, Kirklinton, Longtown, Nicholforest, and Stapleton WI reunited for a 'back to normal celebration lunch' at Skitby restaurant in Carlisle - the first once since the pandemic started.
A member of GroupConvener, Margaret Harmison, said: "It was our first meeting since lockdown and there was so much to celebrate - CCFW1 Centenary, a poem from Angie, The Queen's Jubilee and the long life of our fellow member The Queen.
"After an excellent meal with little extra treats, we were honored to have our CCFWI Chairman Irene Forsyth introduce our Speaker Heather Pervis who was extremely amusing.
"After that, the Irthington President Jean Clark gave the vote of thanks.
"There were lots of free raffle prizes including the table decorations.
"After a discussion of the NFWI meeting, we then agreed to continue the Border Group Meeting and then the event closed with the National Anthem."
