Donations of over £4k have been made to local charities thanks to a family fundraising event.

A.W. Jenkinson Forest Products made donations of £3,088 to the Great North Ar Ambulance Service and £1,200 to Hospice at Home Carlisle and North Lakeland.

The funds were raised at HubFest, a family fundraising event held at Penrith Golf Hub in June this year.

The fundraiser included ‘come-and-try’ sessions for children, a Texas Scramble competition and putting sessions throughout the day.

Among the businesses to sponsor a hole and provide support on the day were BSW Timber Ltd, Armstrong Watson, Apollo Air Services Ltd, Waitings Ltd, Leo Group Ltd, Blastclean LTD, Keystore and Baines Wilson, Mulholland Media, H&H Reeds, Morrisons, Metcalfe Plant Hire LTD, AST and Liberty Work and Leisure.

Teddy Stamper, transport manager at A.W. said: “We are very proud to have helped raise such a great figure for these two charities, who are doing stellar work.

“In the case of the Great North Air Ambulance Service, for example, it rescues hundreds of severely injured or ill patients every year and receives no funding from the NHS so every little helps."
