A CUMBRIAN business cluster, which works within the nucleur supply chain in the county has strengthened it's international links.
At its recent Nuclear Group Meeting Britain's Energy Coast Business Cluster (BECBC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with NUKSAK, a nuclear focused cluster based in Ankara, Türkiye.
Dianne Richardson, CEO of BECBC, explained why the MoU is important: " Energy Security and Net Zero have become more and more important to countries all around the world.
"Achieving these aims requires collaborative working across an international nuclear supply chain to share expertise, knowledge, capability and capacity. Having relationships with similar organisations to ourselves in other countries brings benefits to us and to our respective countries"

The Memorandum of understanding will allow the two groups to work across their countries to look for internatinal oppurtunies and support access to the nuclear market's.
As part of the document the two groups had to pledge to work with eachother on these core aims: We agree to work together by:
• identifying opportunities or projects in the UK, in Türkiye or in third countries on which companies within the BECBC and within ASO NUKSAK could work together.
• understanding and promoting engineering, manufacturing and innovation that would create value in UK and Türkiye and in doing so, create opportunities between Members of both clusters.
• exploring potential international opportunities to work together, supporting the access to the Turkish and British nuclear market.

"We hope that NÜKSAK and BECBC members will take part together in nuclear industry projects not only in Türkiye but also in the United Kingdom and in third countries. I wish success to all parties with the hope that the goodwill we have shown with this agreement will lead to successful works in the future."
It is hoped by the two groups that the memorandum of understanding will allow them to further their works in the industry.
