A FINE and costs totalling £259 have been imposed on a Carlisle woman who was caught with two illegal drugs – heroin and Xanax.
Rebecca Wardle, 35, of Well Bank Place, Carlisle, admitted having both drugs on May 20 in Penrith. Defence lawyer Chris Toms told Carlisle’s Rickergate court that Wardle suffered from a variety of mental health problems.
These included post-traumatic stress disorder and emotionally unstable personality disorder. “She also has physical problems which leave her in great pain,” said the lawyer, adding that she used the drugs as pain relief.
Magistrates imposed a £140, with £85 costs, and a £34 victim surcharge.
