CUMBRIAN presenter Helen Skelton has thanked her family for their support as she continues on her Strictly Come Dancing journey.

The Carlisle born star has thanked her family for holding weekly parties so her children can enjoy the shows surrounded by loved ones.

In an emotional post on Instagram, Helen said: "Family. Because at the end of the day if you walk over the threshhold and they're happy...you're happy.

"Grateful for my gang holding parties for the live shows...because it means my kids don't want me to be knocked out as they get Saturday nights fuelled on Coca Cola and cousin love.Grateful."

After scoring a fantastic 31 points out of 40 performing the Viennese Waltz to Hopelessly Devoted To You with professional dance partner Gorka Marquez, Helen has made it through to another week on the show.

The Countryfile presenter also took to twitter to thank fans of the show for their support after making it through to week five on the show.

 

Helen and Gorka visited the Alhambra cinema in Keswick ahead of the show last week as they practiced for what fans have called a 'stunning' performance of Hopelessly devoted to you.
