Penrith-based horse trainer Nicky Richards is celebrating a successful year having won 37 races and over £200,000 of prize money last season.
During 2022 Mr Richards added 11 new horse to his stables, meaning there are now over 60 horses in training, with most of their racing taking place at popular nothern tracks such as Carlisle, Hexham, Kelso, Sedgefield and Ayr.
One the several horses trained by Mr Richards, Nells Son won the 2022 Grade 2 Premium Hurdle at Kelso for his owners David and Nicky Robinson, who reflected on training at Greystoke
David Robinson said: "We never imagined when we got our first horse with Nicky 15 years ago that we would have had the level of ongoing success we have had.
"Success not just at the local level but at the highest level with many emotional days at Cheltenham, in Ireland and at all the big Saturday tracks including Grade 1 wins.”
After this successful season Mr Richards is now offering the opportunity to join his yard as an owner with the launch of two new racing syndicates.
These syndicates are designed to to 'bring the thrills of racehorse ownership' to more people without the full initial costs or daily commmitments of training, with Mr Richards believing this is the 'perfect time' to get involved with racing.
He said: "This is the best time to get involved when the horses are beginning their training and have their whole racing career ahead. All three geldings are up and coming, full of potential; with their excellent pedigrees they are budding winners.
"Syndicate members are directly involved, and they’ll get the thrill of their lives watching them race.”
