This week Cumbria's Lord Lieutenant paid a visit to a long running family business.
Lord Lieutenant Claire Hensman visited Brannan Thermometers and Instrumentation on Cleator Moor to find out more about the work that they do.
The business operates on Leconfield Industrial Estate, specialising in making thermometers and other equipment.
Staff at the company were delighted to welcome Mrs Hensman and her husband along as they toured the factory, learning more about their business.
Deputy Lieutenant Gerard Richardson organised the visit to shine light on the hard work of this long running company.
Managing director, Andrew Brannon, said: "Brannan Thermometers has been manufacturing thermometers and pressure gauges for over 100 years. We sell instruments from our factory in Cleator Moor to customers in 130 different countries worldwide.
"It was a great honour to welcome the Lord Lieutenant of Cumbria to our factory in Cleator Moor.
"The Lord Lieutenant took a great interest in the work that we do here and she took the time to speak with many of the people who work at Brannans and play such a vital part in the continuing success of the company.

"Everyone at Brannans really appreciated the interest and support that the Lord Lieutenant showed in our company.
"We were all very proud to be able to showcase our range of measuring instruments and the Lord Lieutenant and her party went on to look at the manufacturing plant and to talk with the sales team about how products manufactured in Cleator Moor are used in every corner of the globe.
"Brannans are currently expanding their range of industrial instruments and working hard to sell them into new expanding markets in the Middle East and Africa.
"Brannans have been manufacturing on the Leconfield Estate for the last 75 years. Cleator Moor is a wonderful location for manufacturing, right on the edge of the Lake District and we hope to be here for many years to come."
