HAIRY BIKER Dave Myers is ‘still in the trenches’ but ‘doing well’ in his battle against cancer, according to long-time friend and co-star Si King.
Si gave an update on Barrovian Dave when appearing on The One Show on Wednesday.
While chatting with hosts Alex Jones and Ronan Keating, Si said: “It’s going really well, he’s still in the trenches of his chemo and his treatment but all the numbers are going well and he’s stronger by the day and more positive by the day so he’s doing well.”

Si said that Dave won’t give up easily.
“He’s a tough old boot you know, he’s from Barrow in Furness,” said Si. “He’s not going to give up easy! And he certainly isn’t, he’s doing great.”
The chef also took the time to thank the public outpouring of support for his friend.
Si said: “And all of us, everybody involved in the bikers and certainly Dave, and Lil his wife and the kids - the amount of love that comes over social media is remarkable, and it’s noticed, and it’s appreciated, and we love it so thank you.”
Myers revealed his cancer diagnosis during an episode of the Hairy Bikers – Agony Uncles podcast in May this year.
During the episode he joked about becoming a ‘Baldy Biker.
He has recently spoken about how his hair has started to grow back and his experience with chemotherapy.

“My hair is growing – look!” said Dave to his podcast co-stars Si King, Posh Tash and the Thin White Duke in a recent episode.
“I keep stroking myself, it’s like fondling a mole’s armpit because it’s baby hair, do you know what I mean?
“I’ve had quite a lot of chemotherapy now, but it’s working. All the numbers are in the right direction, my hairs growing back, my beards coming back, so it’s a long job.“The first lot of chemo I had was really severe and by the second lot my hair came out, so that was it. It was, ‘Lil get the clippers’, the Hairy Bikers or not, for anybody it’s not nice. Your eyebrows go as well.”
