Cumbria CVS have released information on how communities and orgnisations can become 'warm spots' amid the energy crisis.
Areas are now starting to develop warm spots which offer people a warm place to spend some time if they can't afford to pay their heating bills.
A spokesperson said: "Warm Spots are places in the community that will give people a warm space and warm welcome as the cost-of-living crisis begins to bite.
"Many will be existing spaces and events, such as libraries and local coffee mornings, but some might be entirely new."
Organisations are being encouraged to register as warm spaces if they meet the criteria. Which includes: a warm heated space, a warm welcome, a warm drink and open for at least two hours a week.
Registering will mean appears on an interactive map on Cumbria County Council's website, which will help people find Warm Spots close to them. And will receive a toolkit and further support and information as they are finalised.
They can also access grants via Cumbria Community Foundation.
Organisations are asked to register by October 21 on https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/warmspots.
