Cumbria's Fire and Rescue Service blocked off part of Botchergate on Saturday evening (October 15) to deal with a report of falling tiles due to high winds.
Carlisle East, Carlisle West fire stations and members of Cumbria Constabulary attended to the scene of the unstable structure at around 7pm.
An aerial ladder platform was used to ensure the safety of the building.
A spokesperson from Cumbria Constabulary said: "At approximately 7pm, our appliance and Aerial Ladder Platform, was mobilised to Botchergate, Carlisle, to reports of an unstable structure.
"Building masonary was falling onto the street below due to the high winds, so crews utilised our ALP to remove the loose cement and make the building safe," they said.
At 1900 tonight we attended a property on Botchergate in the city along with @CarlisleEast after reports of falling tiles. On closer inspection we removed loose render and made the area safe.
