Mountain rescuers were called out to a 60-year-old man who slipped and fell, injuring his head.
Keswick Mountain Rescue Team (MRT) members were called out to the incident on Styhead Gill at 4:40pm on October 16.
The man fell while descending the Corridor Route from Scafell Pike, suffering deep cuts to his head, as well as injuries to his hand and knee after a five-metre drop.
Despite this, he continued his descent towards Seathwaite in considerable pain until some passing walkers raised the alarm.
Members from the Keswick team met the man on the Styhead tarn path, dressed his wounds, and stretchered him to Seathwaite Farm.
Due to the availability of ambulances, he was taken to the Keswick MRT base to wait for an ambulance for onward transfer to hospital.
In total, the mission took four hours and involved 16 Keswick MRT members.
