Readers have been sharing their thoughts after the Prime Minister, Liz Truss, has resigned.
She has now become the shortest-serving Prime Minister in British history, serving just 44 days.
Her leadership has caused criticism across the political spectrum, and this extends to the British public and our readers.
Here’s what they had to say.
With a lot of the readers saying there should be a general election, Mary Cooper commented on the quick switch of leaders and ministers we’ve seen this year: “ I'll have a go, can't do any worse.”
Chris Newton sarcastically jibed: “Well done Conservative MPs, let your party members decide who they want then screw her over till you get your own choice, democracy at its best.”
Heather Marie said: “Just give up and hand over to labour.”
Sticking with the Tories through all the turmoil was Ian Willacy who said: “We were doing fine before the conspiracy to get Boris Johnson out.
“Markets were good levelling up had started covid had been handled and we are out the EU."
