Fortunately, the 'Phonefind' facility was able to pinpoint the casualty location amongst the maze of forest tracks.
Two vehicles were dispatched to locate the woman, with GNAAS air ambulance on standby due to the apparent serious nature of the injury.
The woman was located and assessed whilst GNAAS was landing in a nearby field.
As the injury was not as serious as initially indicated GNAAS were stood down.
She was given pain relief and her leg splinted before stretchering her down to the team vehicle. She was then taken down to Beck Wythop where she was collected by a family member for transportation to hospital.
