- The jury delivered guilty verdicts yesterday for both 29-year-old Kane Hull, of no fixed abode, and 33-year-old Liam Porter, of Fulmar Place, Carlisle
- The attack on Mr Kirkpatrick took place in Carlyle's Court, Carlisle, on September 18 last year (2021)
- Proceedings are set to start at Carlisle Crown Court later this morning
