Three fire engines were sent out to a building fire in the early hours of this morning.

At 1:30am today (November 1), three fire engines and an aerial ladder attended the fire on Hollins Close, Whitehaven, in a building described by Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service as 'disused'.

The fire was on the first floor and spread to the roof.

Firefighters used two breathing apparatus, a hose reel jet, a thermal imaging camera and a 12-metre ladder to extinguish the fire.
