Emirates has announced the return of its seventh weekly flight from Newcastle to Dubai for the first time since the pandemic.
The airline is scaling up its operations from Newcastle and will now fly from the North East airport to Dubai seven days a week, beginning December 1.
Emirates recently brought the flight back to it’s pre-covid lunchtime departure time, having been flying late in the evening since returning after the pandemic, allowing easier connections to further-away destinations.

The announcement comes as a huge boost for Newcastle Airport and the wider region, bringing greater connectivity to the far-East for holidaymakers and cargo.
Richard Jewsbury, Emirates Divisional Vice President in the UK, said: “We’re excited to be scaling up our operations to and from Newcastle Airport to offer a daily service from 1 December, in order to provide even better connectivity to people in the North East.
“With a steady growth in bookings to Dubai and beyond from the airport, we expect this trend to continue over the busy Christmas and New Year period.”
Meanwhile Nick Jones, Chief Executive Officer at Newcastle International Airport, said the announcement opens up more ‘opportunities’ for the region.

He said: “Emirates’ Dubai service has gone from strength to strength over the past 12 months. We are all pleased that demand for the iconic eastbound service has continued to grow resulting in the return of their pre-pandemic daily schedule, departing at lunchtime.
“Not only does this investment represent the airline’s confidence in our Airport but opens up even more opportunities for the North East public to connect to the world via Dubai in addition to creating even more cargo capacity.”
The daily Emirates flight from Newcastle International Airport is the only one at the airport operated by a widebody Boeing 777, offering business and economy class.
It means the airline now offers 119 flights a week from the UK to the increasingly-popular Dubai.
