A WOMAN was cut from a car following a two car crash in Whitehaven over the weekend.

Police were called at 3.25pm on Saturday, November 5 to the crash in Hensingham, near to the junction of A595 and B5295.

The crash involved a Volvo and a Nissan Micra.

A Cumbria Police spokesman said: "Appears roof had to be cut one of the cars to help safely remove driver.

"She was taken to hospital for x-rays but not believed to have suffered serious injuries."

The road was closed for some time and reopened around 5.30pm.
