BRAMPTON may see around 60 new homes in the town following a bid by a housing association to create more 'affordable' housing in the area.
Castles and Coasts Housing Association (CCHA) is launching a public consultation ahead of submitting a planning application for the construction of the homes on land off Greenhill, in the village of Brampton.
A public consultation event will be held in the village and an online survey launched, to gather the views, comments and insight of people in Brampton and surrounding areas.
Jo Winters, development manager for CCHA, said: “Castles and Coasts is committed to investing in new affordable homes in the locations that would benefit most from them.
CCHA’s mission is to develop new homes with pride, passion, principles and by working in partnership with individuals and businesses.

“Our aspiration for the scheme in Brampton is to build high quality, well designed, energy efficient homes that will integrate into the local environment and create a new gateway for Brampton.
“To deliver this, we must hear the views of local people, as so many of our projects are shaped and tailored by community comments and insight.
"I’d encourage all to come along, meet our design team and ask any questions they may have.”
The proposal has been designed in response to identified housing need and is tailored to mitigate the impact on the natural environment, the group says. The mix of homes includes two-bedroom bungalows and two, three and four-bedroom houses.
CCHA’s Community Consultation event is on Monday, November 28 2022, between 2pm - 7pm. The association’s design team will be there, and people can review the scheme and provide input. It will be held at Brampton Community Centre.
People can also provide feedback by completing an online survey at: www.castlesandcoasts.co.uk/your-home/development-new-homes/ and all feedback provided should be done so on or before December 9 2022.
