DAIRY giant First Milk has confirmed that its member milk price will remain unchanged for January 2023
The Farmers' C-operative announced that the farmgate milk price will stay at 49.69ppl on a manufacturing standard litre, including the member premium and regenerative farming bonus.
Commenting on the announcement, Robert Craig, farmer director and vice-chairman, said:
“We have worked hard to build strong, stable relationships with our customers, and I am pleased that we can continue to provide milk price stability for our members in these uncertain times.”
In May 2022, First Milk, owners of the Lake District Creamery at Aspatria, launched Golden Hooves, a new on-farm branded milk and dairy vending franchise business. This gives members across the country the opportunity to sell milk, cheese and other produce directly from their farm, with the franchise supporting sourcing and supply, payment and central marketing. It also provides an opportunity for First Milk to communicate directly with the public to explain how we are approaching ethical dairy, giving them the opportunity to shop directly from our earth-regenerating farmers.
