CARLISLE Foodbank has been at Morrisons in Carlisle today as part of its Christmas food drive.
The rise in the cost of living over the past 12 months has meant that charities like Carlisle Foodbank have seen a sharp rise in customers.
The Carlisle Foodbank team were joined by Carlisle Rotary Club in raising awareness for the vital work done by the foodbank for people in Carlisle and the surrounding area.
The rotary club has helped many local charities over the years including Eden Valley Hospice, Watchtree Nature Reserve and Carlisle Foodbank.
The foodbank provides a lifeline for families who are struggling, and services will be vital over the winter as many families face the tricky decision of whether to eat or use the heating.
Carlisle Foodbank has been running in the city for 10 years after beginning in April 2020.
As Christmas approaches the foodbank is looking for donations to ensure people won’t go hungry over the festive period.
There are donation points across the city for people to drop items off at and for more information, including recommended items to donate can be found on the foodbank website.
