WEST Cumbria theatre students featured on a West End stage.
Theatre students from Razzamataz West Cumbria took part in a gala performance at London's Shaftesbury Theatre.
The show titled 'Nowhere to go but Up!' had been rehearsed by the students from Razzamataz schools across the UK for months.
The Shaftesbury Theatre is home to the musical Romeo & Juliet, but for one night only, hosted the cast of 15 children who brought to life songs and told a story which had the audience cheering along.
Reviews of the performance also reflected the success of the event, with one saying: "A tribute to Mary Poppins Returns, the children exploded onto the stage with a splash of colour and beautiful vocal performance.
"Capturing the heart of this lovely film, the cast worked together brilliantly to allow each member to shine with each performer sparkling with huge smiles to bring the audience into this wonderful world."
Principal of Razzamataz West Cumbria, Matty Aitchison-Rayson expressed his delight at seeing his students excel on the West End stage.
He said: "It’s truly incredible seeing the students on such a prestigious stage doing what they love and enjoying every second of performing.
"Not many people can say they have performed on a West End stage and the life skills that comes from this type of event are experiences that they can draw on in many different future scenarios."
