HAIRY Biker Dave Myers made his long-awaited return to television this weekend.
The chef appeared on BBC’s Saturday Kitchen this morning alongside co-star Si King, and said while it had been a "rough year" amid his cancer diagnosis, it was "lovely to be back" on TV.
Earlier this year, Barrow-born Dave confirmed he had been diagnosed with cancer and that he was undergoing chemotherapy.
He announced to fans in May that he would be taking time off work, with Si attending a number of festivals on his own.
But the star returned to our TV screens this morning, and appeared thrilled to be back.
Speaking on the show, Dave said: "It's lovely to be back. It's been a rough year, I can't pretend otherwise.
"There are some times when I didn't think I'd be here for Christmas but I have had so much help and I have to give a shout-out to the doctors and nurses in Birmingham that put me back together and the rehabilitation team who got me walking again.
"And nurse Marion, who brings me before my chemo cake in. It's the best banana bread ever."
He added: "Si has been looking after me, filling my freezer full of mince and dumplings."
Many fans took to social media to express their delight at Dave's return, with one writing: "Actually cheering at my TV seeing Dave Myers back and looking so well."
Another said: "Not gonna lie, got a little tear in my eye seeing Dave Myers back on TV and doing well, big love to him."
