HAIRY Biker Dave Myers has been showered with support after making his return to TV at the weekend.

The chef appeared on BBC’s Saturday Kitchen this morning alongside co-star Si King, and said while it had been a "rough year" amid his cancer diagnosis, it was "lovely to be back" on TV.

Earlier this year, Barrow-born Dave confirmed he had been diagnosed with cancer and that he was undergoing chemotherapy.

He announced to fans in May that he would be taking time off work, with Si attending a number of festivals on his own.

Speaking on Saturday Kitchen, Dave said: "It's lovely to be back. It's been a rough year, I can't pretend otherwise.

"There are some times when I didn't think I'd be here for Christmas but I have had so much help and I have to give a shout-out to the doctors and nurses in Birmingham that put me back together and the rehabilitation team who got me walking again.
