Cumbrian racing driver Oliver Turvey has joined a new team in Formula E ahead of the new season.
The Penrith driver has joined DS Penske as reserve driver and sporting advisor.
The move follows Turvey’s departure from Nio 333 after many years.
His move to American team DS Penske was confirmed on the eve of Formula E testing in Valencia.
The experienced Cumbrian says he is looking forward to getting started with his new team.
“I am delighted to be joining DS Penske as reserve driver and sporting advisor," he said.
"It is a real privilege to join a championship-winning team and one of the most successful manufacturers in Formula E history.
“I am looking forward to working closely with both JEV, Stoffel, and the whole team, using my experience in the series to help them challenge for another championship at the beginning of the Gen3 era."
Turvey, 35, is one of the most experienced drivers in Formula E but it was confirmed earlier this year that he was leaving Nio 333 after an eight-year spell.
Eugenio Franzetti, director of DS performance, added: “We are delighted to welcome Oliver Turvey as reserve driver and sporting advisor.
“His huge experience in Formula E is set to reinforce what is already a super line-up within our team."
Jay Penske, team owner and principal, added:"Oliver not only brings incredible credentials to the team, but an acute racing intellect.
"He has all the qualities we were looking for with this role. He is experienced and has demonstrated his racecraft throughout the last seasons.
“We look forward to working with Oliver in Season 9 and beyond."
