A charity is drumming up more support for their Christmas event where prizes are given away.

Oak Tree Animals’ Charity, based in Wetheral, are in the final week of their Christmas Grand Draw, where all money raised will go to help pets and their owners across the region.

Cathrene Mieras, events fundraiser, said: “Our Grand Draws have always been a huge success, raising much-needed funds for vulnerable animals in need.

“They are a wonderful way to work with local businesses and we are delighted with the prizes on offer this year.

“Thank you very much to all of the local businesses who have decided to support us – we are so grateful for your generosity.

“With less than one week to go, buy your tickets now for just £1 each!”

Of the lucrative prizes, there are plenty on offer, such as: an alternative afternoon tea for four people at the Wild Boar Inn, kindly donated by English Lakes Hotels; a Windermere Lake Cruises family freedom voucher; a prosecco afternoon tea for two at Rickerby Retreat; a Keswick Alhambra Cinema family voucher; a Dalemain Mansion and Garden 2023 membership, an afternoon tea for two at the Crown and Mitre Hotel, and a John Watt and Son hamper.

To help Oak Tree Animals’ Charity continue the work they do, they are asking people to please consider entering their Christmas Grand Draw.

Donations made to Oak Tree and the funds raised through the sales of Christmas Grand Draw tickets will be used to help animals in their care and those needing help in the community.

The closing date for the Grand Draw is Sunday, December 18, tickets bought after then won’t be counted.

The draw date is Monday, January 9.

Tickets can be purchased from Oak Tree Farm in Wetheral Shields, or any of their charity shops, which are in Carlisle, Penrith, Hexham, Washington, Maryport, Cockermouth and Keswick.

Tickets can also be purchased online via their website: https://www.oaktreeanimals.org.uk/events/christmas-grand-draw.html.
