A DOG-FRIENDLY hotel group based in the northern Lake District have raised money for charity at their annual Christmas dog walk.
Lake District Hotels ran their annual free dog walk for the third year on Friday, December 16 and raised £111 for Cumbria's only children's hopsice, Jigsaw.
The event attracted 42 adults and 27 dogs, who all embarked on the route which began at Keswick's Market Square.
The canines and their owners also visited Crow Park and Friar's Crag.
A large selection of the dogs in attendance were also dressed for the occasion and sported their finest festive attire in a bid to crowned this year's best dressed festive pup.
The winner of the competition was a Christmas dog walk veteran, Murphy, a cocker spaniel from Workington who has attended every event since its creation in 2019.
Dani Hope, director of Lake District Hotels, reacted to the success of the event.
She said: "We always look forward to this free community event every year and we are overwhelmed by how popular the Christmas dog walk has become.
"The fact that so many people return every year to attend the walk means so much to us - it’s a great opportunity to meet people from the local area who share a love of dogs."
Martha Pardoe, a senior fundrasier at Jigsaw, also attended the walk and gave a brief talk about the essential care that the hospice provides to children.
