Northern Rail have warned passengers not to travel on Saturday, December 24 and Tuesday, December 27 as rail strikes continue to take effect.
Limited service will be available from Carlisle to Newcastle on these dates, but all other routes have been cancelled and there will be no replacement bus services either.
Services from Carlisle to Newcastle will start at 7.25am on Christmas Eve and finish at 11.25am whilst services on December 27 start at 10.23am and finish at 4.22pm.
Network Rail, who operate and maintain the railway infrastructure are affected by strike action on these dates making travel tricky on affected days.
The RMT union are taking strike action as part of their long running dispute over pay, job security and conditions.
Tricia Williams, chief operating officer at Northern, said: "The main cause of the disruption remains industrial action by the RMT union and we can only apologise to our customers for the inconvenience it will cause to their journeys.”
