A GARDEN CENTRE continues to deliver on its promise to keep supplying relief and medical aid to Ukraine.

Plumpton's The Pot Place Garden Centre has delivered its second emergency response vehicle, full of medical supplies, to contacts in Przemyśl and LviV after days of driving through snow.

Paul Thomas and his team delivered the ambulance at Medyka, by the Ukrainian border, but unfortunately with no electricity on that side of the border, the vehicle was then taken to their contacts in the Polish ambulance service in Przemysl.

Co-owner's of the garden centre Paul Thomas and Kevin Roper wanted to do what they could to help immediately as the invasion began, and their efforts haven't slowed down.

The team have also successfully fundraised to purchase an ambulance motorbike, but will have to wait till better weather conditions to deliver due to snowfall - with hopes of delivering a third vehicle alongside it come spring next year.

"As we return to our well lit and heated world I think about the people of Ukraine only a few hundred yards away who have had all that taken away for no reason," Paul said.

"We will keep coming until the sun shines again on Ukraine.

"We now focus on our next project which is to raise enough money to buy what will be our third ambulance to take out to Ukraine in spring along with the fast response motorcycle we already have."

In a post on social media, those receiving the vehicles left a heartfelt message to the garden centre and all those who have donated along the way.

It reads: "The second ambulance is the result of yet another private fundraiser run by the amazing people of Plumpton, UK, gardeners from The Pot Place Garden Centre.

"This is the second ambulance with a lot of valuable medical equipment they bought with their own money, brought to Przemyśl and transferred to Ukraine through us - a lot of respect for you"
