Due to a road vehicle colliding with level crossing barriers between Carlisle and Hexham, services between Newcastle and Carlisle are severely disrupted.
Train services running through these stations will be cancelled, delayed by up to 60 minutes or revised with disruption is expected until this afternoon at the earliest.
A vehicle collided with level crossing barriers near Brampton and has caused the delays on the network.
The car has been removed from the tracks and Network Rail staff are now making repairs to the infrastructure to allow for service to return to running.
For passengers on station platforms, please listen for announcements or consult customer information screens for up-to-date train running information.
