POLICE have released footage of a devastating flood that has affected towns just over the border.
Nithsdale Police in Scotland tweeted the footage of today’s flood, showing what the scene looked like on Whitesands in Dumfries.
A spokesperson from Nithsdale Police said the flood water had entered Friars Vennel and is across the road at the Whitesands and Shakespeare Street junction.
They said people should not enter the flood water as there can be hidden hazards.

The flood has affected and is currently affecting rail travel severely, with Avanti West Coast not running any trains north of Carlisle, that were initially headed for Scotland.
Passengers with these tickets are able to apply for full refunds.
In recent days the Met Office has had yellow weather warnings for rain and wind in place across the Dumfriesshire and borders region.
