JONNY Edgar from Whitehaven will move to MP Motorsport in 2023 for his third FIA Formula 3 Championship campaign.
The 18-year-old has been a member of the Red Bull junior team since his karting years, during which time he won a European and Swedish title on OK junior karts, and he spent two seasons in Formula 4 before stepping up to FIA F3 in 2020.
Jonny, who raced with Trident previously, made a big impact in the season on his return to Formula 3 this year - after initially pulling out due to his Crohn's disease diagnosis.
Jonny and MP Motorsport annouced the news via their Instagram. MP Motorsport said: "We're thrilled to annouced Jonny to our Formula 3 team! Welcome to the MP family."
Jonny said: "I am very excited about the coming season with MP Motorsport and I really appreciate all your support."
The fifth FIA Formula 3 season will kick off in Bahrain from March 3 - 5.
