Oak Tree Animals' Charity have released this week's selection of pets of the week.

MACKIE

Mackie is a bouncy and excitable 1 year old Labradoodle, but he’s not as small as you may think. Mackie is larger than a Labrador and weighs 27kg, but he is a clever and handsome lad who would make a great companion with some further training.

He is friendly and loves to engage with you, whether that is through play or training games. When he becomes over-aroused, or frustrated, he may mouth your hands; we are currently working with him to help him cope with this and reduce his need to mouth. He has a training plan in place to help with the mouthing but new owners will need to be prepared to continue it and consider that settling into a new home may initially result in some frustration and impact the behaviour. Due to this, we are re-homing him to an adult-only home or, if there are children, they should be 15 years or above. There must be more than 1 adult in the home.

Mackie loves to be kept busy and requires an owner who can keep him mentally and physically stimulated. He needs a secure garden. He has not been left alone before so will need an owner who can build up time left alone slowly.

We are still testing his dog sociability and will update his rehoming page accordingly.

If you are interested in Mackie, please contact our Small Animal Team with some information about yourself and include your contact number: smallanimalteam@oaktreeanimals.org.uk.

JASPER AND BLUE:

Jasper and Blue are brothers who are on the look-out for a new home together! Unfortunately this is their second time at Oak Tree so we want to make sure their next home is their forever one.

News and Star: Blue is the more gregarious and affectionate of the two and loves having a fuss made over him. He is quite the lap cat and likes to stay close by.

Jasper is a much more independent boy - he does enjoy a little head bump but generally prefers to entertain himself. Jasper is keen to explore the outdoors so is looking for a home that can provide safe, outdoor access. He is also reported to like to do some midnight ballet around the house!

These boys could live with older children but would prefer to be the only pets.
