A man in his 60s was taken to hospital after being hit by a bus yesterday.
The man, a pedestrian, collided with the bus on Devonshire Street, Carlisle, yesterday (January 5).
Traffic attempting to enter Devonshire Street from Victoria Viaduct was at a standstill, and drivers were being told by a member of the public that they needed to turn around as a person was lying on the ground in the middle of the road.
A spokesperson from Cumbria police said the collision between the bus and pedestrian was reported to them by North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) at 5:48pm, and they were taken to Cumberland Infirmary for checks.

They added that it didn't cause any apparent life-threatening or life-changing injuries.
A spokesperson from NWAS said they took a call at 5:41pm yesterday to reports of a road traffic collision (RTC) involving a bus and a pedestrian.
They sent an ambulance and rapid response vehicle (RRV) to the scene and treated the patient.
They also said he was not seriously injured.
A motorist who was travelling through the area at the time, attempting to access Devonshire Street, said traffic was flowing usually until a bus stopped and put on its hazard lights.
They then were approached by a man who said that they needed to turn around, and who told other drivers to do the same.
