CUMBRIA County Council has issued an update to residents and businesses ahead of the beginning of two-phase resurfacing works on Currock Road, Carlisle.
Phase 1 will involve the installation of a two-way temporary traffic light system to minimise disruption and enable the Highways team to work safely.
This first phase will take place between Monday, January 9 and Friday, January 13.
Phase 2 will involve the road resurfacing and will take place between Monday, January 16 and Tuesday, January 24.
During this time residents are asked to not park on Currock Road between Red Bank Terrace and Currock Park Avenue.
A signed diversion will be in place throughout this second phase.
Councillor Keith Little, Cumbria County Council Cabinet Member for Highways and Transport, said:
"We would like to thank the community and businesses for their continued support, while we improve the road network.
“We understand that these resurfacing plans may cause some disruptions and we do apologise for this.
