A PLANNING application has been put forward for the erection of a swimming pool, gym, riverside restaurant and treatment rooms to an accommodation venue just outside of Carlisle.
Hidden River Cabins in Longtown, which provides luxury log cabins, put forward the application to Carlisle City Council on December 28.
Situated on the banks of the River Lyne, Hidden River Cabins hopes the new building will be a 'fantastic addition' to their outfit centering around guest's health and wellness.
The design of the unit is intended to maintain a slight agricultural feel to the premise and will have access via already existing roads.
A spokesperson from the self-catering accommodation venue said: "The new building would be a fantastic addition to Hidden River Cabins, incorporating health, fitness and wellness based options along with a modern riverside restaurant, serving delicious local ingredients.
"We have designed the building alongside Black Box Architects to be sympathetic to it's location with a living roof and using renewable energy where possible.
"The addition of these facilities would compliment the amenities we already have onsite, enhancing our guest's experience for all at Hidden River Cabins.
"This investment in the business will provide further employment and commerce to the local economy and ensure Hidden River Cabin's sustainability in the future," they said.
