CARLISLE City Council are continuing to 'assess' the future of Tribe Carlisle after the operating company collapsed last year.
Some businesses continue to trade on the Bitts Park site after Carlisle City Council took possession of the street-food and cultural hub last November - following Tribe Community Interest Company (CIC) entering voluntary liquidation barely a year after opening.
Built from shipping containers, the courtyard aimed to showcase a range of local companies and fuse 'concepts of the modern street market and independent retail'.
Discussions are currently underway to sort short-term arrangements for the still-standing businesses that operate on the site, whilst 'longer term plans are assessed'.
A spokesperson from Carlisle City Council said: "We took back possession of the site in late November last year and the businesses continue to trade.
"We are in discussions with the tenants regarding formalising the short term arrangements whilst longer term plans are assessed."
The former operator, Joe Gardham, was contracted to run the site by Carlisle City Council upon its opening.
