CARLISLE United fans have given their verdict on the arrival of John-Kymani Gordon from Crystal Palace.

The 19 year old Eagles striker has joined Paul Simpson's side on a loan-deal until the end of the season.

After the announcement of the forward's arrival at Brunton Park, Blues fans have been having their say on the deal.

Twitter user 'FishIslandBlues' urged fellow fans to get behind the new Blue as he prepares to step into life in the English Football League.

He said: "League football always a big test for anyone stepping up. These loans can work but some often don’t. The fans will get behind JK and give him all the support he needs. Let’s hope it’s a huge success & he has a big part to play in our 2nd half of the season."

Callum Hall believes that this move is evidence of the exciting sporting development taking place at Carlisle United.

He said: "Normally cautiously optimistic with these kind of first loan move from prem clubs. But 1) I trust Simmo and Abbott and it sounds like they've watched him a lot and 2) A few League One clubs wanted him, guess this shows Simmos own pull factor for young players because of England."

JoshTheYoungFarmer did not need as many words to sum up his jubilation at the move.

He simply said: "Brilliant signing."

Lee Rotheram also through his backing behind Simmo and his decision to put faith in the young Eagles striker.

He said: "Very exciting signing! I'm looking forward to seeing him on our pitch. In Simmo we trust."

Finally, All about Steve believes that Simmo is the right manager to get the best out of a raw Premier League talent.

He said: "Won't get carried away yet. As with all these signings, fans of the parent club will be saying "you've got some player there!" but league football is v.different to youth/U-23. But he certainly has a good pedigree & if anyone can get the best out of him, Paul Simpson can."
