Firefighters were called out to free a person trapped in their car after a crash.
Two fire engines were called at 6:30pm on Saturday to the incident on Wigton Road, Carlisle.
The incident involved two vehicles in a road traffic collision which left one person trapped.
An ambulance was on the scene to assess the passengers.
Firefighters used small tools to release the casualty and environmental protection equipment to make the scene safe.
The casualty was handed over to the care of North West Ambulance Service (NWAS).
Crews were detained for an hour.
