For this Nostalgia edition we will be taking a look back at the early 1950s.
There was a lot happening across the world at this time.
This was the decade when NASA was created Elizabeth II becomes the Queen of England after her father, George VI, died.
It was also the era when the first James Bond novel, "Casino Royale," was published by British author Ian Fleming and Roger Bannister became the first recorded man to run a mile in under four minutes.
There was also an awful lot happening here in Cumbria too.
Here are some photos from the News & Star archives which illustrate life in our area at this time.
The first photo shows George Gordon, a Ford dealer on Washington Street, Workington, in 1950 whilst the second shows a royal visit from Princess Margaret to Carlisle.
The next photos show the Wigton cricket team ladies committee and a Carlisle match at Brunton Park in 1953.
