The mayor of Carlisle, councillor Mike Mitchelson is inviting local residents and businesses to join him at his Charity Burns Supper later this month. 

The event will take place on Friday, January 27. 

Tickets are still available for the annual function to be held at The Auctioneer, Rosehill, Carlisle between 7pm and midnight.

All proceeds from the evening will be donated to The Mayor’s Charity Fund 2022/2023, the Main Beneficiaries of which are Carlisle Key, CFM’s Cash for Kids and Jigsaw, Cumbria’s Children’s Hospice.

A spokesperson said: "Tickets cost £35, and include a three-course meal, with traditional haggis (vegetarian option available).

"The Master of Ceremonies for the event will be the Reverend Keith Teasdale and the guest speakers will include the mayor of Carlisle, councillor Mike Mitchelson and the leader of Carlisle City Council, councillor John Mallinson. Andrew Butcher will address the haggis and recite the Immortal Memory and the Piper will be Craig Irving."
