CARLISLE United fans have the chance to score green goals for their club for the first time ever.

The Blues' have been entered into the Planet League - a platform using the power of sport to drive action on climate change through a live league table format.

Fans can score 'Green Goals' for their football club by carrying out eco-friendly actions, such as eating plant-based meals and taking shorter showers.

Some are really simple, like getting a reusable water bottle. Others however, are more of a challenge like ditching the car for your commute.

Each league runs for just 5 weeks, giving fans an opportunity to compete for the Green Cup on a regular basis.

There are also group activities that tally up loads of goals such as group litter picks.

Sitting top of table this week is currently Bournemouth, bagging themselves 1354 goals and counting.

Sustainability coordinator for Carlisle United Community Sports Trust, Natasha Messier, is looking for fans to spring into eco-action quick.

"Each league only lasts for about 5 weeks. So there isn’t much time to get scoring – we are already a week in to this league!

"We need as many fans as possible to sign up to Planet League. There are great family activities to choose from, and we are already finding that getting a bit competitive in the workplace is a lot of fun.
