Police are investigating a burglary at an industrial site in which several power tools and nails were stolen, valued in total at approximately £10k.
According to a public appeal released by Cumbria police today (January 20), the incident happened at a commercial unit on Blencow Quarry industrial site, Newbiggin, near Penrith, between 4:30pm on Tuesday, January 17, and 7:15am on Wednesday, January 18.
The criminal, or criminals, forced entry into a secure industrial unit and stole a large number of power tools and nails for use with nail guns, according to the police.
Police said the nails that were stolen were branded BEA nails, and further ‘site’ nails were stolen that were contained in plastic boxes with bright orange lids which also contained additional gas cylinders for nail guns.
The power tools that were stolen were mainly from the ‘DeWalt’ brand.
The total value of the items stolen in the burglary is approximately £10k, police said.
Police are appealing for any witnesses, or anyone with any further information and if you are offered similar tools or nails to purchase in suspicious circumstances.
