A Carlisle man has been jailed after incidents of theft from a vehicle were reported in Carlisle on Saturday 21 January.
Craig Weaver, 43, of John Street, Carlisle was sentenced on Tuesday, January 24 for theft from a vehicle and two counts of vehicle interference.
The incidents occurred on Crummock Street and Girdwood Close, Carlisle.
A police spokesperson said: “I hope this sentence provides reassurance to the community that action has been taken swiftly against those targeting personal property.
“Our neighbourhood policing teams continue to be proactive in disrupting this behaviour by conducting patrols, providing crime prevention advice, and targeting those involved in this type of crime.
“The theft of vehicles will not be tolerated and those that engage in these activities face a police investigation and prosecution.
“We would like to remind people to remain vigilant to the threat of thefts and burglaries and report and suspicious persons or activity to police via our online reporting form, live chat or 101 or if a crime is occurring on 999.”
He received a six week sentence however as he was already on license until December 2024 this has been revoked.
