THIS YEAR'S upcoming Boof Festival is to the be last for the 'foreseeable', the organisers have announced on social media. 

The festival, which descends on Copeland Stadium in Whitehaven on 18 - 19 of August, has attracted many big names over the years including The Snuts, The View's Kyle Falconer, Goldie Looking Chain and The Pigeon Detectives. 

The organisers, Mighty Boof Promotions, said in a statement on social media that they are billing this year's event as a 'Best of the Boof', with a few festive favourites scheduled to drop in along the way. 

On Facebook, a spokesperson from Mighty Boof Promotions said: "We are finalising this years line up at present and we will have some announcements very soon.

"This years Boof Festival will be the last for for the foreseeable while the team concentrate on other event's we are involved with like Whitehaven Alive.

"With that in mind we are billing this one as a Best of the Boof and are bringing back a few favourites from previous years along with a load of new stuff too.

"We want to thank you for all the support you have shown us across 17 years of events in Cumbria, its been a blast and we will be back at some point - but, for now lets go one last time," they said.
