TRAIN passengers are facing disruption between the Carlisle and Leeds line today following reports of a 'casualty on the tracks'. 

Members of the British Transport Police were called to the line at Crosby Garrett, near Kirkby Stephen, at around 9am this morning (January, 25). 

The casualty has since been taken to hospital, but their injuries are not deemed to be 'life-threatening'. 

A spokesperson from British Transport Police said: "We were called to the line near Crosby Garrett at 9.19am this morning (25 January) following reports of a casualty on the tracks.

"Officers searched the area and located a person who has now been taken to hospital for assessment. Their injuries are not deemed to be life-threatening or life-changing," they said. 

Travelling passengers are being advised to check Northern Rail for further updates. 

The 1:40pm Carlisle to Leeds was cancelled as a result of the emergency services dealing with the incident.
